Ymir GRANDKIDS' Group contributes in a big way
Grandkids Group
It all began around Nelson Gran Sharon's kitchen table in Ymir ~ where a group of inspired children who wanted to make a difference began meeting each month to create fundraising projects for the Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign in 15 countries in Sub Saharan Africa. That was in 2010. Seven years later they are going strong! They meet to create innovative hand crafted items for sale. They have a booth at all our events and are a BIG part of what makes the Nelson group special.

Spring 2011
The last of the trees left over from the garden fest were purchased by the Salmo Watershed Streamkeepers Society for a very generous $100, the condition of sale being that the grandkid's group plant them. This was done on Friday, May 27, 2011 at one of their fish habitat restoration sites on the South Salmo River.
